Holiday Smackdown

Pictured here is the 1500 pt pitched battle between RC's Chaos Space Marines and AR and Southpaw's combined Imperial Guard/Space Marine force. As you can see, not only were not all the figures painted, some of them lacked primer as well. Certainly not table-top worthy but it was worth turning a blind eye to get some gaming in. This would be better had I actually remembered to take pictures during the battle.

Let's just say that the battle was fairly bloody. And the Obliterators lived up to their name. Sort of. :)

I don't even know that we reached a consensus about the victory. I think the forces of Good were well on their way to a victory but I don't think it was 100% clear yet. We had yet to root Cypher out the ruined building he entrenched in. But, the Guard was still full strength having held back and peppered the CSM with withering fire throughout.

EDIT: Since I had to fix a s/v agr anyway, I realized I forgot to point out that all of MS's Imperial Guard were painted quite nicely and many of the CSM were either done or on their way. The Space Marines were the ones severely lacking in the painting dept.

  1. Now, I'm jealous! I am glad that you guys are still hanging in there enjoying yourselves. Why so little terrain on the table for a 40k game though?

  2. Well, it took a 17 hour drive to make it happen. As far as terrain goes, we played with what MS had. Good 40k terrain is something we are all lagging on. Heck, part of the reason for this blog is to steal some ideas from you guys.

When are you going to get your account so you can post? We need the European Union to be represented!
